Report: Chargers, Ravens, Bears among Barkley suitors
Saquon Barkley won't be short of options when he hits the open market.
The Los Angeles Chargers, Baltimore Ravens, and Chicago Bears are believed to be serious suitors for the pending free-agent running back, ESPN's Jordan Raanan reports.
The Philadelphia Eagles, Dallas Cowboys, and Houston Texans are reportedly also interested in Barkley, though the two NFC East clubs aren't expected to be willing to pay his asking price.
The New York Giants opted against using the franchise tag on Barkley for a second season but reportedly remain interested in retaining the two-time Pro Bowler on a long-term deal. Barkley agreed to a revised one-year pact with the Giants last offseason to avoid playing on the tag.
However, New York isn't willing to break the bank to keep the 27-year-old.
Barkley rushed for 962 yards and six touchdowns last year, down from a career-high 1,312 yards in 2022.
The free-agent running back market is packed with other big names, including Derrick Henry, Josh Jacobs, Tony Pollard, and Austin Ekeler.
