Nine-time Pro Bowl linebacker Bobby Wagner is signing a one-year contract with the Washington Commanders, sources told Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

The deal reportedly includes $6 million in guaranteed money and is worth up to $8.5 million.

Wagner, 33, will reunite with Dan Quinn in Washington. Quinn, who was named Commanders head coach this year to replace Ron Rivera, worked with Wagner as the Seattle Seahawks' defensive coordinator from 2013-14. Commanders linebackers coach Ken Norton Jr. was also on Seattle's sideline for multiple seasons and is familiar with Wagner.

A second-round pick in 2012, Wagner played his first 10 NFL seasons for the Seahawks. He then had a one-year stint with the Los Angeles Rams in 2022 before returning to Seattle.

Seattle, we've done this before. You know what it is. It's always love. Until we meet again. I'm around

The future Hall of Famer led the league with 183 tackles in 2023 en route to earning a second-team All-Pro berth. Wagner has 10 All-Pro nods under his belt, including six first-team selections.

Wagner, a member of the NFL 2010s All-Decade Team, leads all active players with 1,706 career tackles. The Utah State product has been a longtime team captain and helped the Seahawks lift the Lombardi Trophy for the first time in Super Bowl XLVIII as a member of the Legion of Boom.

The Commanders, whose defense ranked dead last in points and yards allowed last year, have been aggressive this offseason. Quinn's outfit signed defensive end Dorance Armstrong, linebacker Frankie Luvu, and safety Jeremy Chinn, among other defenders. Washington also brought in center Tyler Biadasz, running back Austin Ekeler, and tight end Zach Ertz on the other side of the ball.

The Commanders, who own the second overall pick in this year's draft, finished 2023 with a 4-13 record and missed the playoffs for a third consecutive season.
