It's a great time to practice, so when Y2038 shows up, we'll be ready.
But seriously... Lucky for me, I live in the eclipse's path. The Midwest US (or, many counties, cities, and villages) will be having lots of parties, the kids will be out of school for the day, and many adults will be annoyed at the whole thing.
I have an older cell phone. I don't use it as a phone, but I can take videos. If I don't get safety goggles, I can still watch (and record) the eclipse.
Other thoughts?
