All M3 MacBook Pro Models Are up to $500 Off
Amazon's Prime Big Deal Days sale takes place next month, but the early deals have already begun, and it's a good time to pick up a new Apple laptop. Right now, the new MacBook Pro models with M3 or M3 Pro chips are discounted up to $500.
Lifehacker has named M3 MacBook Pro "practically the perfect laptop", and Apple thankfully made an 8GB RAM version with a more affordable starting price than previous generations ($400 lower, to be exact), but the more premium configurations are on sale too.
Here's the full rundown of all the M3/M3 Pro/M3 Max MacBook Pros on sale right now, and which one is the right one for you.
The M3 Chip MacBook Pro MacBook Pro 14.2-inch (M3 Chip) Liquid Retina XDR Display, 8GB Unified Memory, 512GB SSD Storage. $1,299.00 at Amazon $1,599.00 Save $300.00 Get Deal Get Deal $1,299.00 at Amazon $1,599.00 Save $300.00The entry-level M3 MacBook Pro has a 14.2-inch screen. The base model has an M3 chip with an 8core CPU, 10core GPU, 8GB of RAM, and 512GB of storage, and is currently for $1,299 (down from $1,599). The display is a mini LED with a 3,024 by 1,964 resolution and 120Hz screen refresh, which should help it run most games smoothly-something the M3 MacBook Air and previous MacBook Pros were not as capable at. The M3 Pro MacBook Pro MacBook Pro 14.2-inch (M3 Pro Chip) 14.2-inch Liquid Retina XDR Display, 18GB Unified Memory, 512GB SSD Storage. Works with iPhone/iPad $1,649.00 at Amazon Get Deal Get Deal $1,649.00 at AmazonThe $400 listing price difference between the M3 Chip and M3 Pro Chip MacBook Pro laptops is deceiving, as despite the similar name, the M3 Pro chip is leaps and bounds better in terms of value, if you're looking for (and can afford) the best performance. This model comes with 18GB of RAM (10GB more than the entry-level M3 MacBook Pro), an 11core CPU, and 14core GPU M3 Pro chip. You also get about eight hours more battery life than the 14.2-inch M3 MacBook Pro. The M3 Pro is just a more powerful engine, although there are no upgrades in the display-so if the RAM and chip processing power is not what you're after, the standard M3 MacBook Pro is the better choice.
You can find this one for $1,649 (originally $1,999) after a $250 discount. Read more about the M3 Pro 14.2-inch MacBook Pro in PCMag's "outstanding" review.
The 16.2-inch M3 Pro MacBook Pro MacBook Pro 16.2-inch (M3 Pro Chip) 16.2-inch Liquid Retina XDR Display, 18GB Unified Memory, 512GB SSD Storage. Works with iPhone/iPad $1,999.00 at Amazon $2,499.00 Save $500.00 Get Deal Get Deal $1,999.00 at Amazon $2,499.00 Save $500.00The M3 Pro 16.2-inch MacBook Pro is similar to the 14.2-inch M3 MacBook Pro. The most visible difference is the bigger screen, but it also has a stronger M3 Pro chip with a 12core CPU and 18core GPU, about four more hours of battery life, and a mini-LED backlit Liquid Retina XDR display with 3,456 by 2,234 pixels of resolution. Those upgrades result in a significantly higher price, starting at $2,499, but you can currently pick one up for $1,999 after a $500 discount, the best discount it has received since its release. This is a good option if you want more screen real estate and more power than the 14.2-inch model offers but don't want to spend about $3,000 for the M3 Max chip.
The M3 Max chip MacBook Pro Apple 2023 MacBook Pro Laptop (M3 Max Chip) 14core CPU, 30core GPU: 16.2-inch Liquid Retina XDR Display, 36GB Unified Memory, 1TB SSD Storage. $2,999.00 at Amazon $3,499.00 Save $500.00 Get Deal Get Deal $2,999.00 at Amazon $3,499.00 Save $500.00Finally, if you want to go all out, the MacBook Pro 16-inch M3 Max chip is the best MacBook Pro Apple offers. To be honest, it's overkill for most people: It has 128GB of RAM, 8TB of memory, a 3,456 by 2,234 resolution, a Mini LED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, a 40-core GPU Apple M3 Max graphics processor, and about 28 hours of battery life, according to PCMag's review. Hardly anyone needs that much power, but if you do, you can now get the M3 Max Chip MacBook Pro for $2,999 (originally $3,499), the lowest price it has reached since its release.
