Kodi installed Zorin17, but won't play audio?

Installed the linux program "Kodi" which I am well used to in Windows10.
No problems installing, it accesses the SYNAS and local folders to load audio, but when play is clicked, the display does the right thing and the visualisations are working, but no progression movement of the file actually playing sound?
VLC, Rythmbox etc run fine as per testing. :confused:
