The Best Items to Own for a More Organized House

I've been on a whirlwind mission to organize my apartment for a while now and, in the process, I've learned all kinds of decluttering methods and bought some organizational tools that have really helped me out. Here are my favorites for each room.

My favorite organizational tools for the bathroom

My all-time favorite bathroom organizational tool is this over-the-toilet storage rack, which is perfect for small bathrooms with limited storage space. I use it for makeup (and would appreciate not getting a lecture on how keeping makeup in the bathroom is bad, actually), but it would be perfect for towels, hair tools, bath accessories, or whatever else. What I really like is that there's enough space under the bottom shelf to still access the back of the toilet for maintenance and you don't have to move the whole unit to get in there.

Honey-Can-Do 4-Tier Space Saver Shelf $43.31 Shop Now images-1.fill.size_245x636.v1714163638.j images-1.fill.size_245x636.v1714163638.j Shop Now $43.31

I also love adhesive shelving for inside the tub, like this three-pack of wire baskets from Yasonic ($23.99) and shower curtains with mesh pockets like this one from Mrs. Awesome ($17.50), because I have way too many shampoos and body washes.

My favorite organizational tools for the kitchen

In the kitchen, I am all about maximizing the use of my limited cabinet space. My favorite tool is actually my over-the-cabinet-door towel holder because honestly, I have nowhere else to hang my dish towels. (All the adhesive towel hooks I buy inevitably fall on the floor, even when I reinforce them with multiple sticky strips.)

AuldHome Over Cabinet Towel Racks (2-Pack) $9.79 Shop Now images-2.fill.size_245x226.v1714163638.j images-2.fill.size_245x226.v1714163638.j Shop Now $9.79

You have options inside the cabinet, too. From an interior pot lid hanger that loops over the door ($22.99) to shelving units that slide out and fit right under your sink ($25.98), your cabinets can hold way more than you think they can if you strategize a little.

My favorite organizational tools for the living room

This category is cheating a little because I've written about these before, but I'm obsessed with storage furniture. Without a doubt, my all-time favorite is my Vlsrka storage mirror, which is lighted on the inside and outside and opens up to reveal hooks and holders for earrings, rings, necklaces, bracelets, and more.

Beyond that, I love storage baskets, especially cute ones like this three-pack of pink and white woven ones from CubesLand ($30.99).

My favorite organizational tools for the closet

I've also written about this, but you need some space-saving hangers. Overall, your best bet is a pack of these metal ones from Sindax.

I'm also a big fan of keeping everything in closets and on shelves in some kind of storage box. These collapsible fabric ones (six for $16.99) are my favorite because they keep everything looking tidy, even if inside, the contents are anything but.
