Peyton: Belichick to be permanent guest on 'ManningCast'
Peyton and Eli are bringing in a new permanent guest to the "ManningCast" this season.
Peyton Manning said Friday on "The Pat McAfee Show" that former New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick will appear on every "ManningCast" in 2024.
Manning added that Belichick - who parted ways with the Patriots this year after 24 seasons - is expected to be on air during the first quarter of games.
"It was an easy pitch to Bill," Manning added. "I said, 'Bill, we want you to come on, and, look, we'd love to go behind the ropes on the defensive side as to kind of what the (Philadelphia) Eagles are going to have to do to stop Patrick Mahomes, right? And if you ever run out of things to say, just make fun of Eli, right? That's always sort of a time-filler."
Widely considered the greatest defensive coach in NFL history, Belichick and the Patriots faced teams led by Peyton and Eli several times. Peyton played in the NFL for the Indianapolis Colts and Denver Broncos from 1998-2015, claiming five NFL MVP awards and winning two Super Bowls. Meanwhile, Eli was the New York Giants' quarterback from 2004-2019 and also won a pair of Super Bowls, beating Belichick and the Patriots on both occasions.
Belichick was considered a front-runner for the Falcons' head coach job this offseason, but Atlanta ultimately hired Raheem Morris as its new sideline boss.
Belichick - a six-time Super Bowl champion head coach - most recently was part of "The Pat McAfee Show" for the program's coverage of the 2024 NFL Draft.
