Missing dual boot after memory upgrade (disconnecting and connecting hard drive)
by JavierLD from LinuxQuestions.org on (#6NCFE)
I have an Acer Laptop (Acer Aspire ES1-512-C80E) wich has originally 4GB of RAM and a 500MB hard drive.
It came originally with Windows 7, updated to Windows 10 and then I partitioned the hard drive to make it a dual boot system (with OpenSuse Tumbleweed on the Linux part).
I decided to upgrade the RAM and the only option was to remove the original module of 4GB and replace it with a new one of 8GB.
The thing is that to access the RAM, it was necessary to remove the hard drive (among other parts) and then obviously reconnect it.
The new memory is correctly installed.
The problem is that now the computer just boots directly on Windows 10, it doesn't even show the Grub menu (I had it with OpenSuse as the default option).
I tried one solution, running the command prompt on Windows (as administrator) the following command
Code:bcdedit /set {bootmgr} displaybootmenu yesbut it didn't show the boot options I had.
Could you please help me with this?
