CEC support on Slackware x86_64?

I was looking into solving a problem with HDMI-CEC, and I noticed Slackware has the /usr/bin/cec-ctl present (from V4L)... but no /dev/cec devices. Any Googling I do seems to lead to Android or Linux on ARM.

Is CEC supported on x86_64? Am I overlooking an easy way to create /dev/cec?
