The US secretary of state, Antony Blinken, has said Hamas's response to the latest proposal for a ceasefire in Gaza included 'numerous changes', of which some were 'workable, and some are not'.
Speaking at a news conference in Doha, Qatar, Blinken said: 'Hamas could have answered with a single word: yes. Instead, Hamas waited nearly two weeks and then proposed more changes'
