Unable to mount root fs ( on a new laptop )

Hello all,
I've just acquired a new laptop and was trying to move my instsallation to it.
The problem is that at boot I get this message, that I know means that something is missing in the kernel, but I'm not sure what.
I use refind as boot manager to have a dual ( or more ) boot and the strange thing is that I can see all my partition listed just before the kernel panic, so it seems the kernel know my type of disk.
More over my older laptop is more has the same type of disk ( m2 ) and exactly the same partition schema.

The only difference is that this new PC has a Ryzen CPU while the "old" one has an I7, but this should not do any difference I guess.

Any idea on how to find what's the problem is ?

I'm not using an initrd image ( never used and will never use ) but I boot directly the vmlinux image FWIW

Thanks in advance

Pigi
