I need ideas to Optimize my Slackware
by inukaze from LinuxQuestions.org on (#6NN4E)
Hi there. again, i had bought 4GB RAM ( DDR2 800 MHz ) my pc is old, 2005
And by the moment i dont have way to get a newer.
Code:inxi -FzOutput

Inxi just stuck in that last line.
The thing is i have "stuttering" with too much regulatiry, yestarday i change the thermal paste.
Code:dmidecode --type memoryQuote:
By the moment i not had any clue why i had stuttering for example :
1 - Browsing Internet
2 - Hear music with Audacious ( Just Audacious Opened )
3 - Watching Videos in VLC or SMplayer ( Compiled from SBo repo )
4 - Playing Videogames like
* i Bejeweled 3 i using i Proton i from i Steam i
* i You Have To Win The Game i
* i Super Win The Game i
* Using RetroArch with any Core
* Using any emulator
* i Wakfu i from Ankama Launcher [ The Steam versions not work needs GLIBC_2.34, Slackware by the moment support until GLIBC_2.33 ]
Which information i need to determine what is causing stuttering ?
i dont know is something like :
* Not the best Graphics Drivers [ maybe "nvidia" instead "nouveau" ] or maybe a not good configuration for GPU using nouveau driver.
* Not the best Desktop Environment [ i am using KDE Plasma ]
* The RAM modules [ Overheat ? ]
* Bad Air Flow for the CPU FAN Cooler
* Bad BIOS Configuration
* The using of HDD
* Not enought good mix performance things [ Hardware / Software ]
- ZRAM or ZSWAP ?
- Bad Size for SWAP partition or SWAP File
- GameMode ?
Due to the fact that I'm running out of ideas, I resort to asking here on the forum.
Let's see what ideas you can give me to determine what is causing my stuttering so I can solve it so I can have a fluid experience.
