Low Ink notification with printer turned off
by linnymint from LinuxQuestions.org on (#6NQPA)
I'm trying to figure out why I am getting a Low Ink message every time I boot up and log into LMDE 6 even though the printer isn't even turned on. This started sometime in LMDE 5. I can't print from Gnumeric or Libreoffice, but I can print from the text editor. In W7 I have no problem printing and the properties in W7 shows a full black cartridge, which is new, and a half full color cartridge. Getting the message in LMDE the way I do suggests that the printer model should not be an issue, but fyi it is a Canon TS3322 installed when I was on LMDE 4. Oh, and for some reason, in W7 I can't print in Gnumeric, but I can in Excel (starter version ). Don't know about Libreoffice. When the printer is on, the ink indicator lights to not show low ink.
