nvidia driver 470.256.02 fails to build on current
by camorri from LinuxQuestions.org on (#6NWB4)
I had 470.239.06 working on current after applying 3 patches. I saw Nvidia has released 470.256.02 so I though I would give it a try; guessing they may have fixed up the new release with a patch(s) that got it going on the 6.9.x kernel series. The new driver works as expected on 15.0; same hardware, I dual boot current and 15.0.
Has any one else got this newer driver working on current?
I have saved the installer log. Here is a sample of the errors I'm seeing.
Code:/tmp/selfgz1658/NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-470.256.02/kernel/conftest/functions.h:80:2: error: #error wait_on_bit_lock() conftest failed!
80 | #error wait_on_bit_lock() conftest failed!
| ^~~~~There are many more 'conftest failed' messages.
I'm no expert at solving this type of error. Thoughts?
This is no emergency, I just re-installed 470.239.06 and it works.
