Inquest begins into death of Pippa White, with deputy state coroner examining whether she received appropriate care

The doctor who first examined a two-year-old girl before she died of septic shock in regional New South Wales has told a coronial inquest into her death he thought she might" have had sepsis but she didn't meet the criteria for blood testing.

Pippa White died on 13 June 2022, two months before her third birthday, after doctors at two central west hospitals wrongly assumed she had an acute viral illness rather than the bacterial infection that resulted in her death.
