Can I use Input Redirect to take input from ttyUSB0 ?

I think this is a no but I can't find an answer with google so came her.
I understand in very simple terms about using '>' ">>' and '<" to redirect stdip and stdop with regards to files. My question is can '<' be used to redirect input from a device on ttyUSB0 ?
