Does LM Cinnamon 21.3 need anti-virus or anti-malware?

A newbie learning to run LM Cinnamon 21.3 on my Lenovo ThinkPad T540p. For about a week, I have noticed my keyboard is still on when the computer is not in use. And I find it today that the speakers are still speaking when Firefox is closed.

Does LM Cinnamon need anti-virus or anti-malware?
