Lenove middle aged laptop

hello to all and thank you .
I've got a Lenovo laptop 11th Gen Intel Core i31115g4@3.000Gh with only 4Gb RAM
( I know , I pressed the wrong button and when I found out was too late )
I'm fed up with win doze so I decided to give Linux a try
I will run two windows programs , one being EZ bass and Baron Bridge Player
interactive firewall mandatory
I'm sure I can find some text editor , maybe a light photo editing , maybe !
I have to mention that quite a few members here can be my grandchildren , so please explanation like for a school boy
what distro do you recommend please , taking into account I'm a painter , so beauty is sort of important for me and that I know absolutely nothing Linux wise
