massive problems with gpu and touchpad

Hello fellow linux users,

i've been using linux for a year now and I can handle basic stuff with the terminal. switched to linux as a developer but i'm still quite unfamiliar and there's an issue i just can't solve.
I got an acer laptop. E5-771. I know.. i'm broke, can't afford a better laptop.
I tried 6 different distros now, ubuntu, kubuntu, kde neon, xubuntu, debian, open suse.
There's always the same issues: After fresh installation I can not reboot or shutdown. it always gets stuck. I found out that the problem are the graphic drivers. After installing the nvidia drivers, it works. BUT, after installing them my touchpad stops working correctly. swipe gestures don't work anymore. like swipe to switch virtual desktops or swipe to go back and forth in file browsers or web browsers (chrome and firefox). I tried every single nvidia driver available in the additional drivers dialogue. also the open source nouveau. I spent weeks now searching for a solution. I hate nvidia. But like I said I have to use this laptop and it only has an nvidia gpu. I will provide any informations you ask for but please help me out i'm frustrated. It also doesn't matter if I use X11 or wayland. the problems are the same.
