Netflix lineup highlights for August include the return of two popular original series, starting with season four of The Umbrella Academy (August 8). In this final, six-episode installment, the Hargreeves siblings-scattered and without their powers after their Hotel Oblivion showdown at the end of season 3-have to reunite. Nick Offerman, Megan Mullally, and David Cross join the returning cast. Also in its fourth season is Emily in Paris, with part 1 dropping on August 15.

There are two films with all-star casts coming to the platform this month: in The Union (August 16), Mark Wahlberg plays a construction worker who, while living in his hometown, is recruited by his high school sweetheart (Halle Berry) for an intelligence mission in Europe. The cast also includes Mike Colter, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Jessica De Gouw, Alice Lee, Jackie Earle Haley, and J.K. Simmons.

At the end of the month, catch The Deliverance (August 30), a horror thriller directed by Academy Award nominee Lee Daniels and starring Andra Day and Glenn Close.

On the documentary side, there are two new installments of Netflix's Untold series, which explores stories from the world of sports. Untold: The Murder of Air McNair (August 20) looks at the 2009 murder of NFL quarterback Steve McNair, while Untold: Sign Stealer (August 27), unwinds the Michigan football sign stealing operation that became a cheating scandal during the 2023 season.

Finally, for those who have loved nature docs since Blue Planet, there's Secret World of Sound with David Attenborough (August 7).

Here's everything else coming to (and leaving) Netflix in August.
