Backup

I did some research on backups for Linux and found that Timeshift is an option. When I tried to access GitHub in order to download the App, I kept getting the notice that I could not access the server from my location here in the Philippines. So then I looked for the App in the software center but found nothing like Timeshift there. Should I be trying to find something else in the App center?
I was able to download Pika, it is in my download's folder, but I have no idea how to activate it. Thanks.
