Which stable distro for 10 years old laptop for simple home usage ?

Usage: web, mail, multimedia (viewing, playing only), Zoom app.

User can do little or no administration so it will be done remotely if possible (otherwise long travel of the administrator will be needed).

Priorities (highest first):

1. stability; as few errors, bugs, problems as possible
2. notifications about available updates and running them in GUI (both package updates and distribution upgrade). All ordinary tasks can be done in GUI (for example reboot, power off, managing network / wifi)
3. speed, low resource usage DE (similar to IceWM, openbox)
4. no systemd

I've tried Devuan in the past but usb stick automount did not work by default, setting files access rights was necessary which is wrong in this case.
