Installing Insync from SBo - kernel trap in libQt5WebEngineCore.so.5 using XFCE
by thethinker from LinuxQuestions.org on (#6PVVR)
So I'm setting up a new system (Slack 15.0), and went to install insync from SBo, and encountered several problems.
The first is the one originally addressed here: https://www.linuxquestions.org/quest...ld-4175716221/. Basically the link to the source got broken. Fine, I grabbed the source from a mirror.
Now it installed fine, but upon execution the expected thing is to get a little account sign in window, but instead I get a momentary icon in the upper right (using XFCE), which vanishes about 10 s later. Starting from the CLI has the same behavior, and also zero error messages.
I can see the following in /var/log/messages:
Code:Aug 9 11:20:18 Slackster kernel: traps: insync[9388] trap int3 ip:7fbb23e6f0f3 sp:7ffc2f03f3f0 error:0 in libQt5WebEngineCore.so.5[226f0f3,7fbb21c00000+6c6e000]So that's where I'm starting my search ("What is libQt5WebEngine?")- but can anyone shed any light on this?
It's been a perennial problem (for example this thread) to pick a build of insync that works on Slackware, so I've been going to their website (https://www.insynchq.com/downloads/linux) and trying to stick various source builds into our Slackbuild, but they all seem to have the same libQtWebEngine error.
So, any thoughts? Thanks!
