Does youtube still mine your data if watching a video embedded on a different website?

I ask because, in the uk, you get a big popup if accessing youtube directly to agree to them mining your data and whatnot before proceeding.
On embedded videos, however, no such popups occur.
Since from some years ago websites were legally obliged to declare these types of things in some privacy protection changes in the UK, does that mean that youtube don't mine when watching through another site since that same popups does not reveal itself?
