Ubuntu crashing

So I am having an issue with Ubuntu. It crashes pretty much any time I try to exit an application. It also wonit let me kill an application when that application freezes. The GUI freezes randomly with no explanation as to why. I have tried so many different things like switching to Wayland but nothing helps. Is there a more stable distro out there that I can use? I have to reset my pc every time it does this and frankly Iim over it.
