Strange behavior of the network wifi adapter
by Fluer from LinuxQuestions.org on (#6PZVY)
Hello!
I purchased an Alfa AWUS036ACH Wi-Fi adapter and was really surprised that the famous Alfa with the rtl8812au driver can see fewer APs (Access Points) than my laptop's integrated Wi-Fi card with the iwlwifi driver.
I removed the Linux Purple DKMS 8812au driver and installed the aircrack-ng/rtl8812au driver, but the result was the same. The Wi-Fi card in my laptop can detect town and library Wi-Fi networks (with the result 'injection is working'), but the Alfa adapter cannot.
How can I solve this issue? Maybe I bought a non-original Alfa card, need an extra strong antenna, or need to use an additional command to turn on the Alfa's power? Please let me know.
Thank you!
