Nvidia card not detected

I just installed pop os and have a problem with my nvidia card being detected im greener then a blade of grass when it comes to linux. So i googled and youtubed but have not found a fix. I did do a sudo apt purge ~nnvidia and a install system78-drivr -niidia and tried a few other things i found on the net. I check with green with envy and i get a message that the NV controller x extension not found. Is there some other way to get the card detected. Its a desktop with a dedicated GTX 570 card.
