How to choose correct CD and DVD ROM pickup assembly for replacement correctly?

Hi,
I need to replace my PC's and my old but big music set's DVD rom's laser and pickup assemblies since there are some problems with them, problem's frequency increased lately.
But I could not know which one is suitable to it. Is anybody know how to choose the correct one?
1) For my big music set, I opened it but could not find any car number etc. inside! So it is hard to find anything for it, so can any same brandmark's laser assembly suits such as samsung?
2) I only know my Samsung DVD rom's exact model name etc.
Is there any website to check which pickup assembly suits which models?
