How much ram can a VM have and recommend a distro.

Hey all I'm currently a windows user and is going to shift to linux for better compatiblity with amd gpu for machine learning tasks. Now here is the issue I need to run a windows virtual machine from time to time to run a microsoft app in windows called power bi as i have specialization in the same and need for a job. The app needs lots of ram to process query and refresh data. I will have 32gb of ram in my pc and want to know would it be okay to allocate 30 gb to the virtual machine. If no how much ram should i locate for linux.

I would use it for gaming, machine learning and the virtual machine task I listed above. I dont know much so please accept my apologies if I broke any rules or said something wrong.
