Dissable Keyboard Temporary + Install Packets?

Hi
Lets start with the simple. I could download from Varios Vendors Software Package like Google Earth. (Since my Tablet Computer is shut down I dont know how the Packets called.) How to Install them?
Now the major "problem". Thankfully with Ubuntu my "former" Chromebook works 99% as intend even the People who maintain the driver for claim I should use any other OS. So I want stick Ubuntu for now. The only Problem is when I "turn the Tablet in Tablet mode by Flip the Display almost 360 Degree the Touchpad went death to avoid accidental Touchs. Sadly the Keyboard is still active so when it is on my Lap I would Type something by accident.
Is there some easy fix to Activate, Deactivate the Keyboard by pressing an button via the Touchscreen? (And run an Script on Startup to active the Keyboard to.)
