Strong winds are forecast to hit southern states again later this week as clean-up crews take advantage of a short reprieve after days of wild weather that left one woman dead and tens of thousands without power.
The clean-up has begun across south-eastern Australia after a wild day of weather on Monday with record flooding in Tasmania, an emergency bushfire in NSW, and more than 600 houses damaged by wind in Victoria.
