Debian: How to block https websites like the others?
by dedec0 from LinuxQuestions.org on (#6QNJN)
Hello, people.
I have some bad domains blocked in my /etc/hosts, which I make point to 127.0.0.1. So, whenever something tries to access them, they will receive (in the browser) my apache2 page.
But now, something unexpected happened with me. I forgot that I putted bit.ly domain among such ones. I tried to access it, and what the browser showed me is a page written:
Quote:
and also two buttons: "Details" and "Update".
The browser is Vivaldi.
After checking a lot of things, even the internet connection (something saying it could be off was out said, in a moment with this), I discovered the domain in hosts file.
So, now, I see that if I browse to
http://bit.ly
it will show me the correct setting I want: my default apache page.
But how can I make it show the same page when I browse to
https://bit.ly
one?
I tried searching around a bit, but I could not find a clear answer to my question here.
As always, thank you.
