If you're looking for a flip phone with a retro vibe but modern workings, the Motorola Razr might be a good starting point. Its aluminum frame with a vegan leather finish gives it a premium feel; it is splash-resistant with an IP52 rating (but maybe don't take it swimming); you can prop the phone at various angles for hands-free use; and its 6.9'' screen isn't too shabby either. But the real draw here is the price-$399.99 (down from $699.99) for the 128GB model in sage green, summer lilac, cherry blossom, and vanilla cream.

It has a 1.5'' OLED outer display, which is fine for checking notifications, but if you're the type who likes to fire off quick replies without opening the phone, you might find it a bit limiting. Plus, the processor in this phone is not exactly the latest in the market, as noted in this PCMag review. That said, the Razr comes with integrated features like the Ready For suite, letting you use the phone as a webcam when hooked up to a Windows PC, and its 4,200mAh battery holds up pretty well.

You'll find that the cameras perform decently, but don't expect great low-light shots. And there's no option for expandable storage, so you're limited to the 128GB it comes with. Motorola claims the Razr's hinge can handle 400,000 folds (meaning it'll last a good while) and its screen crease is minimal and not too distracting-though that's subjective.

For a more powerful or feature-rich folding phone, you might want to consider upgrading to the Motorola Razr+ at $599.99 (down from $999.99) or the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6, priced at $949.99 (originally $1,099.99).
