Slackware and music-making, need advices
by Bouboulov from LinuxQuestions.org on (#6QRAM)
Hello to all friendly slackers,
I'm willing to make some music again (after years, never too late to get back to it) but the media stuff can be tricky, as you may know.
I checked about AlienBob's DAW, but it's not really what i'd look for, i'm not getting into midi stuff or elaborated electronic music. Basically, I would need only some sort of multitrack recorder (I know about Audacity of course), but according to you, what would be the some of best softwares to record guitar/bass/vocals and making some drums loops, beats etc ? I used to do this on ModPlug back in the days, and an old 4 track program on Windows, but I'm sure there are exciting new things around.
So, this is not a technical question really, but just an asking for advices, experiences, maybe - cheap - hardware recommandations and setups.
All answers are already given big thanks btw !
