Comparing High-Speed Interconnects for HPC: InfiniBand vs. Ethernet vs. Omni-Path Best Fit for Extreme Networks?
by charliekatherine from LinuxQuestions.org on (#6QRR9)
Hi everyone,
Iim evaluating different high-speed interconnect technologies for a high-performance computing HPC solutions setup and would love some input. Specifically, Iim looking at InfiniBand, Ethernet, and Omni-Path.
Here are my main questions:
InfiniBand: What are its advantages in HPC environments, and how does it perform compared to the others?
Ethernet: How does it fare in terms of speed and reliability for HPC applications?
Omni-Path: What are its strengths and weaknesses in HPC settings?
Additionally, how well do these technologies integrate with Extreme Networks hardware? Are there specific technologies or configurations that work particularly well with their equipment?
Iid appreciate any insights or experiences you have with these interconnect technologies and their compatibility with Extreme Networks.
Thanks!
