USB3 thumbdrive being detected as USB2

I have a USB3 thumbdrive that is being detected as USB2. This only happens for one Lexar brand thumbdrive and only if it is plugged into the front panel of one specific Linux desktop computer. It is successfully detected as USB3 on the rear USB ports of that same computer. All other thumbdrives are successfully detected as USB3 on the front panel.

Additionally, this Lexar thumbdrive is successfully detected as USB3 on a different Linux laptop (on all ports of this laptop computer).

The desktop computer (the one experiencing the issue) is running Mint 21.1 and it's Mobo is maybe(?) 10 years old. The laptop computer is running Mint 21.3 and it is maybe(?) 3 or 4 years old. Both are fully up to date on software. Desktop mobo is Gigabyte GA-Z87X-UD4H ATX. Laptop is Dell Latitude 5411 with it's custom Dell mobo.

Attachments below show output of lsusb and inxi. The RED attachment is for the LEXAR drive when it is incorrectly detected as USB2 in the front panel USB3 port. The GREEN attachment is the LEXAR drive being successfully detected as USB3 in the rear USB3 port. The BLUE attachment is for reference, and it shows a different SANDISK brand USB3 drive being successfully detected as USB3 in the front panel port.

Another attachment shows that the front panel ports are directly connected to the mobo via a cable, with no intervening electronics built into the panel itself. The computer has two USB3 headers and I tested both of them - and they both fail to correctly detect the LEXAR drive. And the headers split out to two USB3 ports on the front panel - I have tested both of those ports as well and both do the same thing.

Yet another attachment shows the mobo indicating the USB3 headers that fail to detect the LEXAR thumbdrive correctly (highlighted in RED) and the rear port that correctly detects the LEXAR drive (in GREEN).

Here is my BIOS info. Updates are available, but none of them mention anything having to do with USB.

F7 6.09 MB Aug 05, 2013 Support PCB ver 1.0/1.1 Improve PCIE-E compatibility (Note) The USB driver must be updated in advanced.I know there's probably too much detail presented here, but I'd rather have people quickly skip over unneeded stuff than have to ask for more info (which you'll probably have to do anyway!)

Any help on figuring out a fix for this issue is appreciated. It is obviously not critical since I can just plug the thumbdrive into a port that works correctly. But still, I'd like to learn what the problem may be, simply to train my brain to be better at diagnosing and fixing things.

It is probably relevant to mention the exact thumbdrive model I am having the problem with:
Lexar 64GB JumpDrive S47 USB 3.2 Gen 1 Flash Drive (LJDS47-64GABBKNA)

Thanks in advance!
