As they doevery autumn at the annual Squishing of the Squash", the ambassador animals oftheOregon Zoo smashed pumpkins to enjoy the fleshy interior, using various techniques unique to each species. Some of the pumpkins were carved and some were not, but that made no difference to the animals. The devouring animals includerhinos, elephants,beavers, ring-tailed lemurs, and black bears.
