Patriots captain Peppers arrested over drug, strangulation and assault charges

• Safety pleads not guilty during Monday court appearance
• 29-year-old did not play on Sunday due to injury

Patriots safety Jabrill Peppers was arrested over the weekend for assault, strangulation and other charges after a disturbance at a home, police said on Monday.

Police in Braintree, Massachusetts said they were called to a home early on Saturday morning after reports of an altercation between two people. One person was treated by emergency medical services at the home, police said.
