Having the right tools for the job can make garden, yard, and home maintenance easier, but those prices can be a tough pill to swallow. During Amazon's October Prime Days, you can take advantage of sales on a bunch of tools to help you tackle projects all over the house. Here are a few of the standout deals I've found so far.

Cordless leaf blowers

Gas-powered leaf blowers are becoming less common as municipalities pass ordinances against them and consumers reap the benefits of electric tools that don't need any gas to run. These battery-powered blowers can save you money as well as time when you're doing your fall yard clean-up.

  • The Makita 18 Volt LXT leaf blower is on sale for $170.05, 56% off its regular price. This blower also comes with a charger and a 4-amp-hour battery.

  • The Husqvarna 40 Volt leaf blower is on sale for $223.99, 30% off its usual price. This blower packs a punch and can blow 650 cubic feet of air per minute to move leaves and yard debris. It comes with a 40-volt battery and a charger.

  • The DeWalt 20 Volt MAX compact blower is on sale for $149, 42% off its typical price. This smaller, more compact blower comes with an 18-volt, 4-amp-hour battery and a charger.

Chainsaws and trimmers

Using a chainsaw is one of the greatest joys of doing yard work, if you ask me. They can be very handy when handling downed branches, trimming trees and shrubs, and cutting firewood. Here are some deals on making short work of long branches.

Cordless mowers

Cordless mowers can make lawn maintenance less of a headache-even more so if you get one of the autonomous ones. Here are a few deals that will make your mowing chores a breeze, even if you're on a budget.

  • The Husqvarna automated mower is on sale for $1,423.99, 43% off its regular price. This autonomous mower has GPS-guided navigation and can handle an area of up to .8 acres.

  • The Greenworks 16-inch 40-volt mower is on sale for $198.99, 33% off its usual price. This mower is a walk-behind push mower, so you'll have to mow the lawn yourself, but it comes with a battery and charger.

Human-powered garden tools

Power tools are fun in most parts of the home, but in the garden, hand tools are indispensable. Here are a few human-powered garden tools for pruning, planting, and weeding to get your yard into shape this fall.

  • A set of two Fiskars fine-tip pruning scissors is on sale for $17.66, 48% off their regular price. These micro-snips are good for detailed pruning both for houseplants and out in the garden.

  • An adjustable 30- to 60-inch hula hoe is on sale for $15.97, 47% off its usual price. A hula hoe, also known as a stirrup weeder, is good for weeding without using your lower back muscles to pull.

  • This Hori Hori knife is on sale for $13.85, 31% off its typical price. This double-sided ambidextrous garden tool can be used for planting, weeding, and digging, and includes a measurement scale along the side to gauge planting depth.
