OLED monitors are proving to be some of the most exciting options for gamers: Not only do they combine exceptional image quality, but they have some special advantages when it comes to speed as well. And the MSI MPG 341CQPX is an absolutely brilliant example of what a great OLED gaming monitor can be.

I personally tested the MSI MPG 341CQPX, and it's a stunner. It stretches wide with a 34-inch display that curves ever-so-slightly to keep the distance between your eyes and the display more even. The display has an engrossing 21:9 aspect ratio that's not only great for really sinking into games but also provides a ton of room for work. Imagery on the display is kept nice and sharp with a 3440x1440 resolution.

Now, so far, those specs don't set the MSI MPG 341CQPX far apart from fairly tame ultra-wide monitors. It's the newer QD-OLED panel that does the trick. Every pixel on the display is self-illuminated, allowing one perfectly black pixel to sit right next to another that's fully illuminated. This technology eliminates ghosting, and it's a sight to see. While the MSI MPG 341CQPX may have a limited peak brightness for the whole screen, it can see small areas glow impressively bright. With quantum dots in the QD-OLED panel, the MSI MPG 341CQPX also gets vibrant color. And thanks to the newer panel used in this monitor, the MSI MPG 341CQPX avoids some issues with text clarity that affected quite a few OLED monitors launched in the past couple years.

Another advantage of the OLED panel in the MSI MPG 341CQPX is its pixel response time. This sees each pixel change in a fraction of a millisecond. On IPS and VA panels, you can often see the delay in pixels changing in the form of ghosting. This appears as a visible trail behind moving objects, like you may see in Blur Busters' UFO test. By having faster pixel response times, the MSI MPG 341CQPX displays fast action more clearly-and pairs wonderfully with the display's 240Hz refresh rate.

Between its gorgeous colors, impactful contrast ratio, sharp clarity, and fast motion, the MSI MPG 341CQPX has a lot to offer any gamers that wants to see their game worlds spring to life. And while the monitor was already a bargain compared to its competition when it launched at $899, this deal brings it down to $770 and leaves little room for other high-end monitors to challenge it.
