Elon Musk Unveils Tesla's Robotaxi With Shiba Inu Taking A Ride

On Thursday, October 10, Musk unveiled Tesla's robotaxi Cybercap during the We Robot" event in Los Angeles.

On an evening ride, Musk boarded one of the robotaxis with about 20 other similar cars riding without human control. The billionaire rode around in Cybercap to demonstrate its functionalities and autonomous ability.

The Cybercab is a sleek two-door vehicle designed as a compact version of Tesla's Cybertruck. The vehicle only accommodates two people and has no steering wheel or pedals.

Also, Tesla's robotaxi stands out from other robotaxis brands as Tesla manufactured it without extra hardware. Cybercab functions autonomously with artificial intelligence and cameras.

Meanwhile, during Musk's demonstrative ride to the public, aShiba Inu was spotted taking a ride on one of the autonomous robot axes.

An X post on Dogecoin's official account showed the dog on a happy ride in a Cybercap. The post requested that Elon Musk confirm whether it was a Shiba Inu in the robotaxi.

Musk Says The Autonomous Future is Here With Low Cost

During the We Robot" event, Musk displaced the possibility that comes with the robotaxi in transportation. He noted that Cybercap reflects the place of autonomous cars, offering 5 to 10 times longer driving periods than humans and also ten times safer.

Musk stated: The autonomous future is here. With autonomy, you get your time back."

According to Tesla's boss,Cybercap will provide premium point-to-point transportation autonomously and at a reduced cost. He said the transportation price with the robotaxi will be meager, and many will tag it as individualized mass transit.

Again, Musk acknowledged $1 per mile as the average cost for bus transportation within a city. However, the CEO revealed that the Cybercab would operate at an average of 20 cents per mile.

So, including taxes and other fees, the commuter using Tesla's robotaxi will pay between 30 and 40 cents per mile. Moreover, the vehicle will be charged inductively and won't need plugs.

Musk further indicated the affordability of the Cybercap, with a potential launch price below $30,000.

Moreover, the billionaire mentioneda possible timeframe for releasing some Tesla vehicles. He said that by next year, the company will begin manufacturing fully autonomous and unsupervised Full Self-Driving (FSD) vehicles in Texas and California.Productionwill focus on Model 3 and Model Y.

However, Musk revealed that the production of the Cybercap will kick- off either in 2026 or 2027.

Meanwhile, some companies that ventured into robotaxis have suffered huge losses and possible shutdowns. Amazon has its Zoox testing purpose-built cars that operate without manual controls.

General Motors introduced its Cruise, which functions like the Chevrolet Bolt EV. However, the firm suspended the production of its self-driving vehicle Origin" indefinitely.

Alphabet's Waymo is the only company in the US operating an uncontrolled robot axis for fares. The company boasts about 700 Jaguar Land Rover cars.
