Derrick Henry agrees to historic two-year, $30 million extension with Ravens after leading NFL in rushing TDs
The Baltimore Ravens don't expect Derrick Henry to slow down any time soon. The running back reportedly signed a two-year, $30 million extension to remain with the franchise, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
The deal will pay Henry, who would have been an unrestricted free agent following this upcoming season, an average salary of $15 million per season, a record for a running back over 30. Henry will be guaranteed $25 million as part of the deal.

After starring with the Tennessee Titans early in his career, Henry signed a two-year, $16 million contract with the Ravens last offseason. He proved to be an excellence addition, teaming with Lamar Jackson to give the Ravens the best rushing attack in the NFL. Henry, 31, rushed for 1,921 yards and scored an NFL-leading 16 rushing touchdowns in his first season with the Ravens.
Prior to that, Henry put up excellent numbers with the Titans. From 2018 to 2023, Henry was one of the best running backs in the game. He averaged 1,378 rushing yards and 13 rushing touchdowns per season during that period. Henry led the NFL in rushing attempts four times in those six seasons.
That workload led some to wonder whether Henry would continue to be effective as he entered his 30s. His first season in Baltimore may have put those concerns to rest. With his performance, Henry earned his fifth Pro Bowl selection. Over his career, he's been a first-team All-Pro once and won the Associated Press' Offensive Player of the Year award in 2020, when he ran for 2,027 yards.
