49ers CB Deommodore Lenoir arrested in Los Angeles on obstruction of justice charge
San Francisco 49ers defensive back Deommodore Lenoir was arrested with a charge of obstruction of police on Thursday night, the Los Angeles Police Department announced.
According to the police report, officers stopped a group including Lenoir in the area of West Vernon Avenue and South Wilton Place and saw a gun in a parked vehicle. Officers asked for the keys to the car and one person in the group threw them over to Lenoir. Lenoir then tossed the keys to a third person, who attempted to hide them.
Lenoir, 25, was released from jail early Friday morning after being held overnight and is scheduled to appear in court in July. He is a Los Angeles native.
The 49ers have not released a statement on the incident.
A fourth-year NFL player, Lenoir signed a five-year, $92 million contract extension with the 49ers in November. He was a fifth-round pick by the team (No. 172 overall) out of Oregon. Last season, Lenoir was moved to the slot and had two interceptions with a career-high 85 total tackles in 15 games. Pro Football Focus rated him as the No. 41 cornerback in the NFL.
For his career, he has six interceptions with 265 tackles and 26 passes defensed.
The 49ers are scheduled to open training camp on July 22 and will conduct joint practices with the Denver Broncos on Aug. 7 ahead of the teams' preseason opener on Aug. 9 at Levi's Stadium. San Francisco opens the 2025-26 season on Sept. 7 at the Seattle Seahawks.
