Prime Day 2025 is here from Tuesday, July 8 to Friday, July 11, and Lifehacker is sharing the best sales based on product reviews, comparisons, and price-tracking tools.

Before I could afford a pair of premium headphones with active noise cancellation (ANC), I bought myself the affordable Sony WH-CH720N headphones and used them for a year or so. These headphones are smaller and lighter than the likes of the Bose QuietComfort or the Sony WH-1000XM5, and still offer good noise cancellation. This Prime Day, they're going for nearly 50% off, making the Sony WH-CH720N a great option for those who want noise cancelling headphones under $100.

One of the major advantages of the Sony WH-CH720N headphones is their battery life-Sony claims that you'll get up to 35 hours of battery life, which I found fairly accurate. The sound quality is nowhere near that of the XM5 or its competitors, but then again, the WH-CH720N costs less than half of those other options. If you live in a hot and humid place, you'll appreciate the lighter weight and comfort of these headphones.

There was one issue that eventually forced me to upgrade: changing the ear pads. It's hard to pull out the ear pads these ship with, and equally hard to put them on again or to put on a replacement pair. I was constantly worried about damaging the ear pads. If you're mostly using these at home in a mild climate (or in air-conditioned areas), you won't need to replace the ear pads for a long time. But if you're planning to use them outdoors, you may need to swap out the ear pads once a year or so.

Looking for something else? Retailers like Walmart, Best Buy, and Home Depot have Prime Day competition sales that are especially useful if you don't have Amazon Prime.

  • Walmart's Prime Day competition sale begins at midnight on July 8 and will include deals up to 50% off. It's an especially good option if you have Walmart+.

  • Best Buy's Prime Day competition sale, Black Friday in July," runs through Sunday, July 13 and has some of the best tech sales online. It's an especially good option if you're a My Best Buy Plus" or Total" member.

  • Home Depot extended its 4th of July sale through at least July 9, competing with some amazing deals of its own. It's an especially good option if you're looking for power tools, appliances, or outdoor equipment.
