Here at The Verge, we love physical media, and we know many of you do as well. That's why it's our duty to share the news that many great 4K Blu-ray and standard Blu-ray movies, TV shows, and box sets are on sale for Prime Day. Amazon is currently offering a ton of great Blu-ray deals (including a buy two, get one free" deal), but if you'd rather shop elsewhere, other retailers have an excellent selection of deals, too. Now until tonight at 12AM ET, for example, Target is running a buy two, get one free" promo. Barnes & Noble, meanwhile, is hosting a big sale on Criterion Collection classics through July 27th.

One thing to note - and you may already be aware of this - is that you need a 4K Blu-ray player to play 4K Blu-rays. The PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X can both serve as a basic option, but we thought you'd like to know that Panasonic's solid UB420-K 4k Blu-ray player is also down to $235.99 (normally $250) at Amazon when you clip the coupon for an additional $5.03 off.

  • The 4K Blu-ray version of The Wild Robotis a steal now that it's down to $13.99 ($16 off) atAmazon. The gorgeously animated film is a bit of a tear-jerker, with an all-star voice cast that includes Pedro Pascal, Stephanie Hsu, Mark Hamill, Matt Berry, Lupita Nyong'o, Ving Rhames, and more.
  • The Wireis one of the few HBO gems from its cable-only era that's still considered must-watch TV. Thankfully, you can - and should - pick up the complete series on Blu-ray while it's down to $49.99 ($51 off) atAmazon, which is about $30 less than its usual price. Just note that this collection is in 16:9 aspect ratio, while the show initially aired in 4:3.
  • BBC'sOrphan Blackput the inimitable Tatiana Maslany on the map. She plays multiple roles with ease in this multi-season sci-fi show that's about clones and cons. The Blu-ray set is available atAmazonright now for $22.99 ($42 off), which marks its lowest price to date.
  • Furiosa: Mad Max Sagais available on 4K Blu-ray atAmazon for $12.99 ($21 off). The prequel toMad Max: Fury Roadis no less explosive as it dives into Furiosa's backstory. It stars Anya Taylor-Joy and Chris Hemsworth.Read our review.
  • The 4K Blu-ray version of Akira is on sale for $16.49 ($13 off) at Amazon, which is the best price we've seen since January. Set in a post-apocalyptic Neo-Tokyo, the 1998 classic follows a teenage biker who gains psychic powers after an accident, leading to a conflict that threatens the city and its military. It remains one of the most influential anime films despite its age, and has played a key role in defining the cyberpunk genre and expanding anime to a global audience.
