49ers release WR Quintez Cephus to sign CB Eli Apple

The 49ers have dropped one player to make a reported roster move official.

San Francisco announced the club has released receiver Quintez Cephus as the corresponding move to sign cornerback Eli Apple.

Cephus had just joined the 49ers late last week. San Francisco has been dealing with a few injuries at the receiver position.

Apple, 29, reportedly agreed to sign with the 49ers on Sunday.
