Micah Parsons takes veiled dig at former Cowboys teammates while praising Packers, says he 'never liked' the Lions
Micah Parsons had a lot to say Thursday with Sunday's blockbuster season-opener between his Green Bay Packers and the Detroit Lions just days away.
He took a veiled swipe at his former Dallas Cowboys teammates while praising his new teammates in Green Bay. And he made his feelings clear about the now-division rival Lions. He's not a fan.
First things first. Parsons, who's been receiving treatment for a back injury that may require an epidural injection just to play on Sunday, spoke about his experience in the Packers training room. He said that he's witnessed a wall of support from his teammates that he hasn't experienced anywhere else.

"I tell you, I've never been in a locker room with guys like this," Parsons said. "I came in Tuesday for treatment, and I saw almost every guy in the locker room. This is the first time I've ever seen this.
"That shows just how much these guys want to be here. ... They just want to be around each other and hang out. That's important to have guys that want to come into the building. Like guys that want to come in the building, they want to be here. I think that's important. And when you're around guys like that, it makes it exciting to come to work."

How bad did it get between Parsons, Cowboys teammates?Parsons didn't say "Dallas Cowboys" when he referenced "never" having been in a locker room with guys like this. He didn't have to. The process of elimination here is easy. He meant the Dallas Cowboys.
And his statement lends credence to reports that there was a rift between not just Parsons and Cowboys management toward the end of his time in Dallas, but that the relationship between Parsons and his teammates was also strained.
While with the Cowboys, Parsons hosted a podcast in which he sometimes spoke candidly about his football opinions. This reportedly rankled teammates including quarterback Dak Prescott, according to Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer. Per that report, Parsons was seen by some of his Cowboys teammates "as egotistical and self-centered."
So exactly how bad was the relationship at the end? That much isn't clear. But it's a storyline that will continue to intrigue as the season progresses to a Week 4 showdown between the Packers and Cowboys.
As for the matchup at hand? Parsons stirred the pot there as well.

"I never liked Detroit," Parsons said. "I never like them. Even when I was in Dallas, it was just always a heavyweight fight every time they came in."
Prescott also shared candid thoughts on Detroit's propensity to use trick plays.
"Trick plays? Trick plays are for people who can't beat you straight up," Prescott said. "It's like a guy running around the ring or they're trying to jab. But meet me in the middle. Let's line it up.
"That's what guys who try to do trick plays do. They can't beat you head up. They don't want to out-physical you. They don't want to be dominant. It's a scared tactic, I guess. But I can beat you any which way."
So yeah, Parsons isn't shying away from mixing things up in media with his new team.
As for his status for Sunday's game? He continued to be a limited participant at practice Thursday because of his back injury. But he doesn't sound like a man who's planning to sit this one out.
The Packers and Lions are scheduled to kick off at 4:25 p.m. ET on Sunday.
