CeeDee Lamb is fastest Cowboy to 500 catches, ahead of Michael Irvin, Dez Bryant, Jason Witten
The Dallas Cowboys' offense is off and running.
CeeDee Lamb is a big reason why. And now he has a new spot in the Cowboys' record book.
By halftime of Thursday's 24-20 Cowboys loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, Dallas had racked up 20 points. Lamb was a big reason why, with four catches for 86 yards at the break.
With his fourth catch of the half, Lamb became the fastest player in Cowboys history to reach 500 catches. He reached the threshold in 82 career games.

It's a list that includes prolific pass catchers Michael Irvin, Dez Bryant and tight end Jason Witten, who leads the all-time franchise list with 1,215 career catches. But none of them got to 500 faster than Lamb, who projects for a big season in 2025 on a Cowboys offense that's expected to score a lot of points.
Unfortunately for the Cowboys, Lamb's and his teammates' offensive production wasn't enough to secure a halftime lead or push them over the top in Dallas' final drives of the game. A shaky Dallas defense reeling in the aftermath of the Micah Parsons trade was no match for an Eagles offense that racked up 216 yards en route to a 21-20 halftime lead. However, that Dallas group recovered in the second half, while its offense struggled.
Among those who struggled - Lamb. He had one particularly key drop late in the fourth quarter that helped doom Dallas.
The Cowboys are going to need to lean on their offense to stay competitive this season. Expect Lamb to continue to etch his name into the team's record book, and look to atone for Thursday's miscues.
