The Cleveland Browns are making a change at quarterback.

Rookie third-round pick Dillon Gabriel has officially been named the starter for Week 5, with veteran Joe Flacco headed to the bench after four games.

The Oregon alum will debut against the Minnesota Vikings in London on Sunday, making him the first quarterback in NFL history to make his first career start in an international game.

Gabriel, 24, won the backup job out of training camp over fellow rookie Shedeur Sanders. With Flacco struggling during the Browns' 1-3 start to the season, head coach Kevin Stefanski made the quick move in an effort to turn things around.

This season, the 40-year-old Flacco has two touchdowns and six interceptions while completing just 58.1% of his pass attempts. Gabriel, meanwhile, has been on the field in two regular season games during blowout losses - completing 3 of 4 pass attempts for 19 yards and a touchdown.

Gabriel's debut will come against a Vikings defense, led by Brian Flores, that has consistently caused problems for quarterbacks over the past three years. Minnesota had the second-ranked run defense last year, and ranks second against the pass through four weeks this season. The Vikings' seven takeaways (two interceptions, five fumbles) are tied for fourth-most in the NFL so far.

After facing the Vikings, Gabriel will travel to Pittsburgh to face the Steelers. His potential home debut could come against the Miami Dolphins in Week 7 before another road game against the New England Patriots leading into the Browns' Week 9 bye.
