Patriots RB Antonio Gibson reportedly out for season with torn ACL sustained vs. Bills
Patriots running back Antonio Gibson has a torn ACL from the knee injury he sustained Sunday against the Buffalo Bills and is out for the season, NFL Network reports.
Gibson suffered the injury while returning a kickoff. He took a direct hit to his right knee that knocked him up in the air and forced a fumble. He immediately grabbed his knee in pain and remained down on the field for several minutes while receiving treatment from trainers.

Gibson, 27, is in his second season with New England. He recorded 744 total yards from scrimmage and a touchdown in 2024.
Gibson was part of a three-man rotation at running back alongside veteran starter Rhamondre Stevenson and second-round rookie TreVeyon Henderson. He was also New England's primary kick returner and returned a kick 90 yards for a touchdown against the Dolphins in Week 2.
Gibson's injury could mean more touches for Henderson, who has 211 yards from scrimmage and one touchdown on 47 touches through his first five NFL games.
Stevenson continues to struggle with ball security and lost his third fumble of the season in Sunday's game. But he remained in the rotation and went on to score two touchdowns in the 23-20 Patriots win. He projects to remain as the starter for now.
